I was met with an unsual sight as I leant against the rail of the deck watching the sky for the promised storm. A flash of colour caught my eye followed by the unmistakable call of the Rainbow Bee-Eater. I watched as it flew down towards the grass of the firetrack that separates me from the National Park and disappeared. Sand flew upwards and another Bee- Bird joined the first in the grass. I was witnessing the building of a burrow.
Over the last couple of weeks I've watched these amazing birds fly, dig, preen and basically be amazing. I've had the 150-500mm continuously attached to the camera and I've managed to get some great photos of the Rainbow Bee-Eaters going around their everyday lives.
